Reel Black Men

I had the pleasure of attending the Reel Black Men film festival last night. I was really pleasantly surprised that the awesome work of the filmmakers.  It may be sterotypical but I totally expected a bunch of “hood”, tragic melodrama….but what I saw instead were great films with a lot of heart…hope…and love.

The films shown were: And then…Home! by Sheldon Allen (very powerful, well done!), Jesus’ Secretary by Norris Young (great concept!), Locks by Ryan Coogler (Amazing twist, sooo much heart!), Premature by Rashaad Ernesto Green (really powerful, could barely handle it!), Hug by Khary Jones (Black on Black Love, doesn’t get much better than that!),  Popous Pane by Derrick Anthony (So relevant, So healing!), Jacob by Philip Busier (amazing film esp for your 1st, great job!).  Also big props to Ralph Scott for putting together this great event.

Also! Big ups to Rashaad Green and Philip Busier for having trailers of their films on-line so I could link them above! To the other men…whatchall waitin’ on!!! LOL!

Blessings to the filmmakers I’m sure they’ll be doing Big things in the future!
