Celebrating the life & legacy of my mama ~ Eva Mae Pollock
A cd lovingly produced by Jillian Reeves as a gift for her mom, Eva Mae Pollock, on Mother's Day featuring the legendary SC blues musician Drink Small.
Eva's Music Ministry
With an undeniable excitement for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, Ms. Eva Mae Pollock says it’s easy to be obedient to the calling that God has placed upon her life. Traveling, singing and ministering to those in need with her music, God has blessed this beautiful songstress with a precious gift that has comforted the brokenhearted. A blessing to so many, Ms. Eva Mae says that God gives us gifts so that He may get the glory!
Born and raised in Irmo, South Carolina, Eva Mae is the second oldest of twelve children. Coming from abundant yet humble beginnings, she vividly remembers her days as a youth on their family farm. Even with our large family God always provided enough. After her father, Henry went to be with the Lord, Eva tells how her mother, Lila raised twelve children with pride and no regret.
Blessed with a voice from on high and filled with the Spirit of the Lord, Eva started singing in the church at a very early age. “I’ve always enjoyed singing for the Lord.” Although Ms. Pollock did confess that at one point she was a little bashful standing before a crowd, she soon realized (after losing her voice) that her gift was not her own, but an instrument given by God and when it was restored she used it as often as she could for HIS glory.
Blessed with three beautiful children of her own, Eva worked hard to make sure all of their children received an education. Eva struggled, but never complained as she labored to meet the families needs. She feels extremely blessed throughout her life and her family expressed deep gratitude in having a one of a kind, praying mother who fears the Lord and shines so awesomely.
Eva admits that she is equally inspired by her children, especially her daughter Jillian who is a spirit-filled, God fearing person. Eva explains that Jillian is the reason for this project. “I assume God gave her this vision, I am
so proud to have her in my life.”
This project pays homage to the old-time spirituals that have been the foundation of her ministry and served to uplift so many. Jillian shares, “I wanted to find a way to pay honor to my mother and capture her legacy.” With a renewed joy Eva declares, “God who is the head of my life…beside me each and every day of my life, He is my source.” She stands on John 4:4 …because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world...
